Fromental: Twill’s Brand Picks

The penultimate article in our series, where we put the spotlight on luxury wallcovering brands making waves in the industry. Today, it’s the turn of Fromental. To many people, Fromental is a household name when it comes to beautiful interiors, and we share exactly how their legacy came to be so entwined with interior design.

History

Partners Tim Butcher and Lizzie Deshayes both worked in fashion and interiors with some of the world’s most influential international designers.

In 2005, they established Fromental, with one key goal in mind: to design and manufacture the world’s most beautiful wallcoverings.

The partners’ commitment to creating works of art for walls, and their unsurpassed knowledge of interior design trends, makes them the perfect pair when it comes to designer wallcoverings for a huge range of settings. From wallpaper to fabrics, as well as accessories, their handmade interiors house has become one of the leading names within the industry.

Fromental’s Work

Fromental’s designs take on a distinctly British style, blending historic classicism with the contemporary cool of London’s fashion scene. This pays homage to their founders’ roots, which creates beautifully modern, yet completely timeless, interior design.

Their team spans the globe, mostly working with talented craftsmen and designers from London and China. Their artists regularly spend up to 600 hours stitching together individual panels. This is just a small insight into the work that goes on behind the scenes to create the wall covering of their clients’ dreams.

The expert craftsmanship means installation must be a thoroughly thought out process. Our team of luxury wallpaper hangers leave no stone unturned, to ensure the installation matches the product’s quality.

A key talking point with Fromental also has to be their technical expertise. Their team  can customise both the colour and design of your wallcovering, all dependent on your specific needs. If you’re looking for something completely bespoke, they’ll take you through a 4-6 month design process to ensure everything is perfect. The results are astonishing, although they require a certain level of commitment. This is to create a fully customised brief. However, the end product is more than worth the wait.

Their collections include modern takes on Chinoiserie Wallpaper, using monochromatic and vibrant colours throughout the design to make them truly eye-catching. Their novel techniques create a range of beautiful fabrics for not only wallcoverings, but also drapery and upholstery.
